Curriculum Vitae
I am a dynamic blend of qualitative and quantitative researcher, developed through a Bachelor of Science in Geography at University of Lethbridge with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems and a Master of Science in Physical Geography at the University of Ottawa with Prof. Luke Copland, where my focus was on GPS validation, GIS, RADAR-SAT remote sensing and glaciology. In my PhD at McGill University with Prof. Gordon M. Hickey, I have pivoted to an interdisciplinary space focusing on natural resource governance in complex multi-jurisdictional settings. It is my belief that, with the proper tools and supports, such mechanisms can better accommodate a variety of knowledge systems, including local and Indigenous knowledge. Born and raised in the Yukon, I am committed to bridging the North/South divide in Canada by applying my intimate knowledge of the research and governance landscapes in the North to other contexts. I have experience and enthusiasm for teaching physical and human geography topics at a variety of academic levels, including GIS, remote sensing, co-management, and impact assessment. Sitting at the intersection between science and social science, I work with partners from a variety of backgrounds to engage in respectful, relevant research that contributes to an inclusive northern research agenda.
